Finding Inspiration During These Turbulent Times

on Jan 31, 2025

These past two weeks have been turbulent to say the least. Recent actions by the new administration have created instability, fear, and uncertainty; while NAEP scores illustrate that critical learning challenges persist. We recognize that educators are leading through unprecedented challenges. Our hearts are heavy for the students, educators, families, and communities who have been impacted by the recent executive orders around immigration, equity, transgender rights, and more.

We believe as firmly as ever that every student has the right to rigorous learning environments, schools where their agency is elevated, and classrooms where they belong and are respected.
We also know that students need educators who are committed to creating opportunities for them to thrive, and we believe this happens by supporting leaders–from the central office to the classroom–in building the right conditions for this to happen.

Even in this time of great uncertainty, we continue to be inspired by courageous education leaders across the country. This week alone we’ve had the privilege of learning alongside leaders in Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, and Washington. It was amazing to see leaders dig into improving their practice on behalf of their students while also managing potential impacts as news was breaking from Washington, D.C. Seeing this makes it easy for our CEL team to redouble our efforts and show up as the learning and thought partners you need. We remain steadfast in our commitment to creating schools where all students can be happy and proud.
