Equity-centered, learning-focused leaders center student voices and experiences to lead for improvement.
Equity-centered, learning-focused leaders center student voices and experiences to lead for improvement. Listening is an act of equity, and you can strengthen how you actively listen to students with this tool that prompts stories about students’ school experiences. Designed by students for students, this resource can help you learn more about what makes your students happy and proud.
CEL created the Student Experience Story Guide with students at the center of the development process, from concept to publication. The guide identifies students’ universal wants and needs at school, and it creates avenues to explore the heroes and villains who impact them. One thing that students made loud and clear to us: for them, this is not an assignment. It’s an expectation for better student engagement.
CEL supports leaders to use the Student Experience Story Guide in professional learning for Leading Equitable Schools. If your system is interested in partnering with CEL and using the Student Experience Story Guide in your work, please use the “Take the Next Step” link below to contact us.
