Dr. Michele Mason, a passionate advocate of educational leadership, joined the University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership (CEL) in June 2019 and serves as one of our senior directors. With a deep commitment to fostering excellence in education, Michele supports district partnerships and provides strategic instructional leadership to district and school administrators.
Michele brings a wealth of experience to her role, having served as a district administrator, nonprofit leader, school administrator, and high school English teacher in both suburban and urban settings. She is a dedicated champion of empowering central office staff to support principals as equity-driven, instructional, strategic, and visionary leaders.
Michele’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University (NC), a Master of Science in education from Old Dominion University (VA), and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her experience and unwavering commitment to educational equity make her an invaluable partner for those seeking to enhance equity-driven instructional leadership and drive meaningful change in schools and districts.
