Sep 22, 2022

Please join members of our CEL team and partners from Oak Park School District (Michigan) and South Bay Union School District (California) as they help reimagine equitable student experiences in two sessions at the Learning Forward Annual Conference in Nashville on December 4-7.

On Monday, December 5 from 12:45 – 2:45 pm CST, leaders from Oak Park School District will join Jonathan Aldanese and Joanna Michelson to share how collaborative teacher teams can lead student-focused inquiry cycles to reimagine and improve student experience. In Getting Better Together: Student Voice-Powered Inquiry Cycles (Session 1413), participants will access artifacts from the field, student interview protocols and a research-based inquiry tool for analyzing their own inquiry-based teamwork.

On Wednesday, December 7 from 8:45 – 10:45 am CST, leaders from South Bay Union School District will join Lisa Rooney and Jennifer McDermott to illuminate leadership practices for listening to students furthest from justice as critical data to help reimagine visions for schools. In Centering Student Experience: Leadership Practice for Equity (Session 3207), participants will explore ways to understand student experience using student-designed tools influenced by research, analyzing artifacts from school systems and self-assessing leadership practice.
